Great Results and Amazing Care from Initial Consultation (5 Years Ago) to Follow-up (4 Months Post-op)! I met Dr. Olson and Mercy for the first time for a rhinoplasty consultation in 2017. From day 1, they have been amazingly kind, attentive, and flexible. After years of consideration (and having to reschedule for work/family reasons), I finally proceeded with the surgery (rhinoplasty/septoplasty) in 2023. In the weeks leading up to the procedure, Mercy worked hard to ensure I had medical clearance, helping send my medical records to the surgical center. Since this was my first surgery, I was very nervous on the day of my operation. Dr. Olson, my anesthesiologist, and the nurses at the surgical center all did an excellent job providing comfort and reassurance. I had chatted with a friend about her rhinoplasty recovery and was prepared for a rough 1-2 weeks, but my recovery was relatively painless with minimal bruising (worst on days 2-3 post-op). I returned to working/studying on my laptop at 7 days post-op. Although I still had swelling (it's normal for swelling to take around 3 months to resolve, with full results in 1 year), at only 1.5 weeks post-op, I was happily impressed with the results! I owe my fast recovery to Dr. Olson, partly because he understood exactly what changes I wanted and therefore decided to not perform an osteotomy. I have also been told by a surgical nurse that Dr. Olson is very gentle and his patients often report an easier recovery (relative to other patients she has cared for)! I am now 4 months post-op and my nose is exactly what I was hoping for! I was concerned about rhinoplasty changing my face too much, but my nose looks natural and with the character of my old nose, just without a dorsal bump and with a slimmer tip! I've had no post-op complications, but I was worried about infection, septal hematoma, and other complications that I've read about in the weeks and months after the operation. Dr. Olson was very responsive to my concerns and saw me for follow-up appointments in clinic. He used his decades of experience and extensive medical knowledge to provide the best care and reassurance. He and Mercy are truly one of a kind providers. Thank you, Dr. Olson and Mercy!
