How is facial fat transfer performed?

First, unwanted fat is removed from an area of the body through the use of liposuction. Then, the fat cells are prepared for re-implantation and injected into the treatment area. Patients receive local anesthesia or local anesthesia and sedation as necessary to maximize comfort during the procedure.

How long does fat transfer to the face last?

Longevity of the procedure relates, in part, to the technique that is used to prepare the fat cells before they are re-implanted. The body may reabsorb some of the implanted fat over time, making touch-up treatments sometimes necessary to maintain an ideal appearance.
